BYU Committee on Race, Equity, and Belonging

The BYU Committee on Race, Equity & Belonging is united and deeply committed to realizing the recent call to action and reflecting the united declaration of leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the NAACP that educational institutions “review processes, [policies], and organizational attitudes regarding racism and root them out.” Read more about their mission, purpose, and resources available here.

BYU Office of Student Success and Inclusion

The Office of Student Success and Inclusion (OSSI) sponsors and promotes programs that give students opportunities to be more proximate to diverse ideas and perspectives. OSSI also hosts events for specific populations including racial minorities, LGBT & SSA students, and religious minorities. In addition to programing, OSSI advisors are available to meet with students one-on-one to discuss individual concerns, questions, and ideas regarding inclusion and belonging on campus. To contact an advisor, feel free to visit 2010 WSC (across from the Varsity Theater) or email ssi_assistant@byu.edu.

BYU Research and Writing Center

The BYU Research & Writing Center provides a supportive and resource-rich environment where trained consultants collaborate with students to increase awareness, abilities, and confidence in any part of the research and writing process.

Reconciling Faith and Sexuality Confidential Therapy Group in CAPS

This psychotherapy group is designed to provide a space for students who identify as LGBTQ+ or who experience same-sex attraction to openly discuss their sexuality and how it intersects with their faith. We strongly value agency and an individual’s right to self-determination. We also recognize the complexities that arise in trying to reconcile these two important aspects of identity. In group, we encourage students to thoughtfully explore their identities, help support one another in their individual journeys, and work toward psychological health.
